Starship Troopers collection

Klendathu is crawling with Arachnids and the Federation sends its young recruits there to be slaughtered with a smile! Born in 1959 from the pen of Robert A. Heinlein, this vision of a humanity militarized to the bone found its most famous face in 1997 with Paul Verhoeven's film, a scathing satire disguised as a space war epic. Johnny Rico leaves his Buenos Aires high school for the Mobile Infantry, Carmen Ibanez takes the controls of a Fleet ship, Carl Jenkins probes minds for Military Intelligence and Lieutenant Rasczak, their former teacher, barks his orders between two suicidal offensives. Between the propaganda spots chanting "Would you like to know more?" and the chitinous monsters mowing down entire regiments, the Federation hammers home that service guarantees citizenship. From the novel crowned with the Hugo Award in 1960 to the helmeted figures, the galactic crusade continues with an irony that hits as hard as the rifles!
