Released in 1996, Space Jam brought together Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny against the Nerdlucks, those little aliens from Moron Mountain who became the Monstars after siphoning off the talent of Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and other NBA stars. Daffy Duck grumbles, Taz swallows everything in his path, Lola Bunny makes her big debut with a devastating crossover and Marvin the Martian calls the fouls in a referee's outfit. The film blends live action and animation with total cheek, right up to the elastic arm that stretches across half the court to settle the game. In 2021, Space Jam: A New Legacy restarted the machine with LeBron James and a Warner multiverse as a playing field. The jersey with the number 23 has lost none of its aura and keeps filling display cases with figures and t-shirts with a nineties flavor!
