A tweed jacket, a red tie that is far too thin and a lime green Mini with a black hood parked any which way: Mr Bean needs nothing more to turn the shortest journey into a disaster! Born in 1990 on ITV from the imagination of Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis, this almost silent overgrown child wages a personal war against everyday objects, queues and that little blue three-wheeled Reliant unlucky enough to cross his path. His faithful Teddy, a knitted brown bear with button eyes, serves as both confidant and punching bag. The character then moved from the small screen to the feature films Bean in 1997 and Mr Bean's Holiday in 2007, before an animated series extended his grimaces to younger audiences. A pantomime that never needed subtitles, and whose legacy lives on today on collectors' shelves, where Teddy very often steals the show!
