A blue alien passing himself off as a dog at a shelter: that's how Experiment 626 became Stitch, the most unlikely of Hawaiian mascots! Designed by the scientist Jumba as a machine built to destroy everything, the fugitive crash-lands on Kauai and ends up in the hands of Lilo Pelekai, a lonely little girl and Elvis Presley fan who carries Scrump, the rag doll she sewed herself, everywhere she goes. While her big sister Nani, an orphan too, struggles to avoid foster care under the watchful eye of social worker Cobra Bubbles, the little devil discovers in his own chaotic way the meaning of the word ohana. Released in 2002 and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, the film swaps the fairy tale for a wobbly family where nobody gets left behind or forgotten. Between Elvis records and the beaches of Kauai, the little monster finally retracts his claws. A troublemaker right to the end, this squatter with the crooked smile isn't about to leave!
