A bone-eating well at the bottom of a Tokyo shrine, and Kagome Higurashi is thrown five centuries into the past, into Japan's Sengoku era! Launched in 1996 in Weekly Shonen Sunday by Rumiko Takahashi, the saga brings together this fifteen-year-old schoolgirl, the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo, and a dog-eared half-demon whom Kikyo's arrow had pinned to the sacred tree for fifty years. A clumsy arrow shatters the Shikon Jewel, and the hunt for the shards begins before the scheming Naraku can gather them all. Joining in are the monk Miroku and the void gnawing at his hand, the demon slayer Sango with the cat Kirara and the little fox Shippo, while the icy Sesshomaru prowls around Tessaiga, the sword left by their father. Between sword strikes and feelings never confessed, the fifty-six volumes of Inu-Yasha have plenty to fill shelves with for a long time, in manga, novels and figures!
