One well-placed Extension Charm and a whole bestiary fits inside an old leather suitcase: that is how Newt Scamander carries it around 1926 New York! A magizoologist created by J.K. Rowling and played by Eddie Redmayne, he chases after his boarders set loose in the middle of the street, from the thieving Niffler to the Occamy, before giving the Thunderbird back its freedom above the city. Tina and Queenie Goldstein travel with him, as does Jacob Kowalski, the only one in the group without magic, under the shadow of Grindelwald, the dark wizard that a blood pact long kept Albus Dumbledore from facing. The tastiest part is the origin: a Hogwarts textbook published in 2001, signed Scamander, with no trace of Rowling's name. Fifteen years later, three films directed by David Yates carried the adventure through to 2022. Just flip the latches and the suitcase releases its collectible menagerie all over again!
