Born as a custom Warcraft III map before being reborn as Dota 2 under the guidance of Valve and the very discreet IceFrog in 2013, the franchise pits the Radiant against the Dire on three lanes where two teams of five heroes farm and maneuver until the opposing Ancient falls. Anti-Mage, Crystal Maiden, Juggernaut, Invoker and his ten invokable spells: each one shows up with their own skills, their own lines and their own legend, while Roshan waits at the bottom of his pit for someone to dare take his Aegis. Around this arena a colossal competitive scene has been built, where The International tournament and its staggering prize pools have carried the champions of the Radiant and the Dire far beyond the map, all the way into collectors' display cases!
