A frying pan coming down on Earl's head and a thundering "Not the mama!": at the Sinclairs' house, Baby rules. Created by Michael Jacobs and Bob Young, the series arrived on ABC in 1991 with dinosaurs carved out of foam and latex by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, under the wing of Walt Disney Television. Fran referees, Robbie protests, Charlene demands her share of the spotlight, and Earl comes home from a job that is anything but harmless: cutting down trees for the Wesayso Corporation. That is where all the flavor of the 65 episodes lies, between sitcom laughs and an attack on big business and the destruction of nature. The final episode takes the argument all the way: Wesayso sterilizes the vegetation and the ice age brings down the curtain on the Sinclairs. Few family sitcoms end with the extinction of their heroes! The tribe, however, escaped the freeze and comes in POP figures that put the Sinclairs back in the warmth of collectors' homes!
