It all comes down to the belly: a heart for Tenderheart, a clover for Good Luck Bear, a moon and a star for Bedtime Bear, a rain cloud with a lightning bolt for Grumpy Bear, and one glance is enough to tell who's who! Born in 1981 on American Greetings cards, under the brush of illustrator Elena Kucharik, these bears took on volume in 1983 when Kenner turned them into plush toys. The animated series arrived on screens in 1985. From their kingdom perched above the clouds, they watch over the emotions of the world below, backed up by their cousins Brave Heart Lion, Swift Heart Rabbit and Lotsa Heart Elephant. Faced with great sorrows, this band without fangs or armor has never had any weapon other than its tenderness. And it is still in plush form, symbol on the belly and arms wide open, that these bears come across best!
