A village in Armorica that stands up to all the might of Rome in 50 BC, and all it takes is a sip of magic potion! Born on October 29, 1959 in issue 1 of the magazine Pilote, written by Rene Goscinny and drawn by Albert Uderzo, Asterix is that small blond warrior whose helmet wings change position depending on his mood. His inseparable Obelix happily does without the druid Getafix's flask: having fallen into the cauldron as a baby, the menhir delivery man keeps that strength forever, and the dog Dogmatix trots along behind him. Around them bustles a whole village, from chief Vitalstatistix perched on his shield to the bard Cacofonix, who is usually tied up before the banquet, between roast boars and Julius Caesar's legionaries sent flying. Translated into more than one hundred and ten languages and dialects, the saga has gone well beyond the albums to reach the big screen, game controllers and the t-shirts of the indomitable!
