It is very simple: you just have to open the book to feel immersed in the candy shop. The book's concept remains straightforward since it simply presents the sweets of the wizarding world while offering you the chance to smell them. This particular approach creates real interaction with the reader, and you must not be afraid of looking ridiculous bringing the book up to your nose every fifteen seconds. With only twenty-four pages, the book is as short as the reading is smooth. Each double page offers one or two sweets. You will find only one confection if it is very well known, while you will discover two if the candies are not very famous. Each page features beautiful illustrations accompanied by photographs from the films.
However, you will not learn much from this book if you are already a fan of the universe. The content is limited to a few sentences with quotes from the films and books as well as a tiny paragraph to remind you of the nature of each sweet. Visually and olfactorily, the journey is worth the detour and you will have a lot of fun, no matter your age. The interactive and playful side of the scratch patch that releases a scent works well, although be careful, there are not only pleasant smells within these pages. If your stomach is strong enough, you will no doubt have the courage to try all eighteen scratch patches. The number is very low for a book of this type and that is a bit of a shame, especially since over time some scents end up fading and the album loses its magic. Honeydukes scratch and sniff offers you a unique journey into a shop that smells far too good and whose fragrances will follow you long after you close the book. Be careful with your last scratched patch, because nobody wants to spend the day with the smell of vomit under their nails.
